As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  Identifying, initiating, and leading projects to improve process safety, quality, service, cost, capacity, and productivity through engineering and continuous improvement methods.

  n

  Improving capability on manufacturing equipment using a variety of tools which includes standard work, tier reviews, and kaizens.

  n
n
• n

  Troubleshooting variation, performing root cause analysis, applying systematic problem-solving techniques, and implementing sustainable solutions.

  n
n
• n

  Engaging in daily operations to resolve equipment downtime issues, assure quality and productivity, and meet service targets.

  n
n
• n

  Creating and maintaining documentation, including specifications, preventative maintenance, and change management documentation.

  n
n
• n

  Establishing an extensive network of support (laboratory, quality, financial, manufacturing, engineering, sales and marketing) to help facilitate completion of assignments.

• n

  Communicating at all levels of the organization to drive direction. Function as a technical resource within immediate work group.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

  n
n
• n

  Five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military setting

  n
n

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

n
• n

  Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university in an Engineering field (completed and verified prior to start)

  n
n
• n

  Experience within a manufacturing setting with demonstrated strength in engineering and mechanical problem solving.

  n
n
• n

  Training and experience in continuous improvement methods, statistics, and designed experiments are beneficial; and Six Sigma are beneficial; Green Belt certification is a plus.

  n

• n

  Demonstrated capability and knowledge of equipment reliability concepts and methods.

  n
n
• n

  Experience managing and optimizing plant utilities.

  n
n
• n

  Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and remain flexible to changes.

  n
n
• n

  Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook.

  n
n
• n

  Demonstrated project leadership experience, teamwork, and communication skills.

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
