Manufacturing Engineer Co-op Spring 2027

We are seeking a co-op to join our dynamic Research & Development team. This role supports the Life Science Biology franchise within MilliporeSigma.

The MilliporeSigma facility in Indianapolis specializes in contract development, manufacturing, and fill-and-finish services for complex and sterile pharmaceutical products, particularly lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and mRNA technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluation of OEM documentation compared to physical on site spare parts availability.
• Sourcing of spare parts that are obsolete or hard to find.
• Recommended upgrades and retrofits of obsolete parts.
• Communication between OEM and MSIG management.
• Implementation and qualification of upgraded/updated spare parts to improve sustainability.
• Development of downtime tracker pertaining to equipment.
• Evaluation of non planned work orders and development of appropriate PM program based on historical data and/or OEM recommendations.
• Other equipment/facility reliability initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or Industrial Engineer from an ABET accredited school
• Basic understanding of drafting software (preferably AutoCAD or SolidWorks or ProE)
• Hands-on technical experience gained through previous internships, university machine shops, or applied engineering teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
