Role Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining efficient manufacturing processes, equipment layouts, and workflows within an ISO9001/AS9100D facility. This role partners closely with R&D, Quality, and Operations to transition new products into production, design tooling/fixtures, and ensure manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
* Process & Tooling Design: Develop assembly methods, design fixtures and tooling, and optimize equipment layouts for maximum efficiency.
* New Product Introduction (NPI): Collaborate with R&D during design reviews to evaluate product manufacturability and ensure smooth transitions to production.
* Continuous Improvement & Quality: Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities, handle non-conforming product dispositions, and define inspection criteria with QA.
* Documentation & ERP: Create and maintain process documentation, Methods of Manufacturing, and Bills of Materials (BOM) within the ERP system. Manage Engineering Change Requests/Orders (ECR/ECO).
* Supplier Collaboration: Coordinate with Materials and QA teams to define technical requirements, conduct supplier assessments, and resolve technical issues.
Qualifications
* Education & Experience: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering preferred, with 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
* CAD Proficiency: Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with SolidWorks .
* Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of welding, machining, general manufacturing processes, and military specifications/requirements.
* Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, strong communication skills, and experience with MS Office and ERP systems.
