Manufacturing Process EngineerResponsible for design, development, improvement, troubleshooting, implementation, and evaluation of processes and equipmentEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesHelp develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes and systemsImprove new and existing manufacturing equipment and processesSupport manufacturing with daily operational problems through hands-on troubleshooting using root cause analysis and corrective / preventive measuresCoordinate implementation of product design changesParticipate in FMEA development and improvementsOversee and coordinate the design and build of production equipment, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes while improving operator safety, reducing labor, improving quality, and reducing waste of materials and utilitiesAnalyze equipment operations, processes, and associate procedures to determine and improve production efficiency, ergonomics, safety, workflow, layout, and maintenance-related issuesSupport continuous improvement initiatives while driving Lean and 5SParticipate in development and review of all processes and work instructions to ensure accuracy, standardization, and conformance to actual procedures. Revise as neededEnsure equipment accuracy, reliability, and efficiency with preventative maintenance proceduresRequired Education And/Or ExperienceDegree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experienceMinimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing; automotive manufacturing experience preferredExperience in lean production and manufacturing technologyRequired Skills And AbilitiesWorking knowledge of modern manufacturing processes and principles, including latest technologiesGood analytical/problem solving skillsProject management skillsAbove average computer skills, including Windows applications, CAD, and ERP systemsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines with a high degree of accuracyAbility to manage action plans while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availabilityGood written / verbal communication and communication skills; Able to work effectively with others; Ability to effect change through influenceGood organizational and time management skills; Attention to details; Can work independentlyBasic knowledge of PLC programming, robotics, electrical schematics, machining / toolingBasic knowledge of ISO 14001 and IATF requirementsTeam player with positive attitude toward new concepts and initiativesSelf-motivated; Accountable for decisions; Work effectively under pressureSound understanding of materials requirement planningAbility to take precise measurements using specialized equipment and techniquesRequired Decision-Making And Organization ImpactIdentifies and improves key manufacturing processes to provide stable and effective equipment in order to maintain quality, cost, and delivery goalsDocuments and summarizes R&D and improvement activity to maximize SRED tax credits with adequate supporting documentationReporting RelationshipsThis position reports directly to the Engineering / Maintenance ManagerThis position does not have any direct reportsWorking ConditionsWork environment varies 50% to 80% on the plant floor vs office areaMinimal – moderate noise in open-office area / moderate – loud noise in plantModerate exposure to hazardous working conditions, including moving machinery and tow motorsOccasional travel to tool shops and other Sanoh facilitiesPhysical Requirements20% - 50% of time sitting at computer desk vs standing / walking in the plantAbility to walk and move about, bend/twist, stoop, kneel, crouchAbility to lift/carry objects up to 30 pounds from various positions, occasionallyShift and "on-call" work may be required
