The Position:
The Manufacturing Electrical Supervisor is a hands-on, front-line leader responsible for overseeing electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, subcontractors, and projects that support Walbec Group's asphalt plants, aggregate processing facilities, and related manufacturing operations. This role serves as the primary field resource for complex electrical issues, coordinates work with plant operations, supports preventive maintenance and control system reliability, and ensures all electrical work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and applicable codes. Success is measured by safe work execution, reliable plant performance, reduced downtime, quality workmanship, effective contractor management, and continuous improvement of Walbec's manufacturing electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electrical subcontractors during maintenance, shutdowns, emergency repairs, and capital improvement projects.
- Perform hands-on electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and installations when required.
- Coordinate electrical work with Manufacturing Managers, Plant Managers, and Maintenance personnel to minimize production downtime.
- Diagnose and triage complex electrical, instrumentation, PLC, VFD, motor control, and process control issues.
- Support all aspects of asphalt and aggregate plant electrical systems, including plant controls and automation.
- Develop, improve, and maintain preventive maintenance programs for electrical equipment.
- Assist with seasonal plant startups, shutdowns, commissioning, and reliability improvements.
- Develop project scopes, obtain contractor support, monitor quality, schedule, safety, and project progress.
- Establish and maintain relationships with qualified electrical contractors throughout the operating region.
