Love practicing medicine but ready to have a bigger impact?

Oley Valley Animal Clinic is looking for a Managing Veterinarian to join our team and help lead the next chapter of our well-established small animal practice.

Serving dogs and cats throughout Oley Valley and the surrounding communities, we’re proud to combine quality medicine with the comfortable, personal feel of a community practice. We also work closely with three local rescue organizations , giving our team the opportunity to make an even bigger impact on animals throughout the area.

A Hospital Built for Great Medicine

Our hospital was remodeled just two years ago and offers a bright, modern space designed to help our team work efficiently and provide excellent patient care.

You’ll have access to:

  • A spacious, dedicated surgical suite
  • Well-equipped treatment areas
  • The ability to perform a wide variety of soft-tissue surgical procedures
  • Same-day sick appointments for patients who need more immediate care
  • A dedicated and experienced support team committed to helping our doctors provide exceptional patient care
  • $20,000 + relocation assistance for eligible relocating Managing Veterinarians

Appointments are generally scheduled for 30 minutes , whether sick or wellness, allowing our doctors to maintain a steady flow while still building relationships with clients and their pets.

The Opportunity

As our Managing Veterinarian, you won’t be trading your stethoscope for a desk. You’ll remain an active part of patient care while also serving as a trusted medical leader for the hospital.

You’ll partner closely with our Hospital Manager to:

  • Provide medical leadership and maintain high standards of patient care
  • Mentor and support veterinarians and team members
  • Help establish medical protocols and best practices
  • Encourage collaboration, communication, and continued learning
  • Ensure veterinary standards, regulations, and licensing requirements are met
  • Partner on hospital operations, budgeting, and opportunities for growth
  • Help shape the future of the practice and build a culture where people genuinely enjoy coming to work

We’re also open to mentoring , making this a great opportunity for a leader who enjoys teaching, coaching, and helping other veterinary professionals grow.

A Schedule With Flexibility

We know there’s no one‑size‑fits‑all veterinary schedule. Our doctors have flexibility to build a schedule that works for them, including 8- or 10‑hour days , with some doctors choosing three longer days per week.

Hospital hours are:

Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM–7:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
Sunday: Closed

Doctors begin appointments at 9:00 AM, and Saturday coverage is every other Saturday .

What We’re Looking For

  • Graduate of an AVMA‑accredited veterinary school or successful completion of the ECFVG certification program
  • Active veterinary license
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate medicine
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Someone who enjoys mentoring, developing, and supporting others
  • A collaborative mindset and desire to help a hospital and its people grow

Why Oley Valley & NVA?

  • Base salary of $130,000–$175,000 , depending on experience
  • Production‑based bonuses
  • Sign‑on, retention, and relocation bonuses available
  • Flexible scheduling and work‑life balance
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match

  • Leadership and professional development opportunities

Ready to Make It Yours?

This is an opportunity to step into an established hospital with a beautifully updated facility, a supportive team, flexible scheduling, and plenty of room to make your mark.

If you’re looking for a leadership role where you can practice great medicine, mentor others, and help shape the future of a hospital , we’d love to meet you.

Relocation assistance is available for approved Managing Veterinarian roles and qualifying moves at NVA GP's discretion. Eligibility and payment amounts are based on distance moved, business need, candidate location, and final Talent Acquisition approval. Local moves may not qualify.
