Managing Quantity Surveyor - Glasgow 85,000 - 100,000 + Car/Car Allowance Major Infrastructure | Heavy CivilsAn established civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Glasgow.The business delivers complex infrastructure projects across Scotland and has a strong pipeline of work across heavy civil engineering, utilities and energy infrastructure.This is a senior commercial position offering responsibility for the delivery of major projects from contract award through to final account, while also supporting the wider commercial team.The roleAs Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial performance of a portfolio of infrastructure projects, working closely with project, operational and senior management teams.Responsibilities will include:Leading the commercial management of major civil engineering projectsManaging projects throughout the full commercial life cycleContract administration across a range of standard forms of contractManaging applications, valuations, variations and changeCost reporting, forecasting and commercial performance managementSubcontract procurement and managementManaging commercial risk and identifying opportunitiesSupporting contractual correspondence and project governancManaging final accountsSupporting and mentoring members of the commercial teamBuilding strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholdersWhat we are looking forYou will ideally have:Significant Quantity Surveying experience within heavy civils or major infrastructurePrevious experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor, Managing Quantity Surveyor or equivalent levelStrong knowledge of major construction contracts, particularly NECFIDIC experienceExperience managing projects through the full commercial lifecycleStrong subcontract management, cost control and forecasting experienceExperience managing commercial risk and contractual changeThe ability to work effectively alongside operational and senior management teamsExperience of other international or major infrastructure contract forms would be advantageous.PackageThe position offers a salary of 85,000 - 100,000 depending on experience, alongside a competitive vehicle package and wider benefits.The role is predominantly Glasgow based and would suit someone looking to take a senior commercial position within an established contractor delivering a long-term pipeline of major infrastructure work.If you have a strong heavy civils background and would like to discuss the opportunity confidentially, please apply with your CV or get in touch.
