Managing Geotechnical EngineerExponent is currently seeking a Managing Geotechnical Engineer for our Civil & Structural Engineering Practice in Los Angeles, CA or Irvine, CA. In this role you will work as part of a team responsible for developing and executing geotechnical engineering projects. This position will provide technically challenging work with excellent opportunities to grow within the firm.ResponsibilitiesConducting analyses of geotechnical and civil engineering systemsEvaluating construction claims related to ground conditions, earthwork, and earth structures (support of excavations, foundations, retaining walls, etc.)Preparing conceptual designs for the repair/restoration of geotechnical systemsPerforming peer reviewsLeading project teams on the execution of project deliverables (field investigations, analyses, written and oral presentations of findings)Developing project work with new and existing clientsSkills and QualificationsPh.D.

in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university with 5+ years' experience or M.S. in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university plus 10 years' experienceStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsDemonstrated success in independently developing and managing client relationshipsAttention to detail, dedication to quality and accuracy, desire to work in a fast paced environmentProven track record of effective leadership skillsStrong publication record in peer reviewed journals or conference proceedings or demonstrated leadership or activity in geotechnical professional societiesPast record of excellent written and verbal communication skillsCurrent licensed professional civil engineer in at least one state with ability to become licensed in multiple other statesApplicants are encouraged to submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae) with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) (not restricted to 1 page).
