Managing Engineer In The Field Of Energy TransitionWe are currently seeking a Managing Engineer in the field of Energy Transition for our Thermal Sciences Practice in Natick MA. In this role, you will work as part of a team to help our clients solve challenging technical problems which are often urgent, high profile, and multi-disciplinary. You will also be responsible for expanding our capabilities in the areas of renewable energy, alternative energy, energy storage, and energy transition.
You must have a strong technical background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics. Career growth will involve increasing project management duties, business development, and hiring technical staff.You Will Be Responsible ForProviding technical consulting services and developing business on a wide variety of systems, components and facilities, including the areas of:Wind powerSolar powerHydrogen systemsAlternative fuelsEnergy storageEnergy transmissionPower plantsGathering and synthesizing information from a wide variety of sources (e.g., field investigations, experimental testing, document reviews, and engineering analysis) and effectively conveying technical conclusions.Promoting Exponent's expertise in alternative and renewable energy by meeting with potential clients, presenting at conferences, writing thought leadership articles and white papers, and conducting seminarsEffectively managing and developing a group of highly motivated junior consultantsYou Will Have The Following Skills And QualificationsM.S. or Ph.D.
in Mechanical or Chemical EngineeringPresently legally authorized to work in the United States. No immigration sponsorship or processing required.Strong technical background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics5+ years of technical consulting experience in the energy transition spaceProfessional Engineering license preferredBusiness development experience with a proven track record, and a demonstrated ability to attract new and/or repeat clients or fundingDemonstrated leadership skills, proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment, and strong mentorship skills with technical staffOutstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills; must be able to communicate findings in the form of reports and presentations to our clients or in a public forumDemonstrated ability to work independently and assertivelyStrong project management and leadership experience.
