Summary

National Jewish Health is seeking an accomplished and strategic Managing Director, Western Region to lead fundraising efforts across the Los Angeles, Chicago and Arizona markets. This leadership role is responsible for directing regional development activities, managing and developing fundraising teams, and advancing philanthropic support through the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors. The ideal candidate is an experienced fundraising leader who excels at building relationships, leading teams and developing strategies that support ambitious fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Leads fundraising activities across multiple regional markets, including major gifts, planned giving, annual giving, endowment, capital and fundraising event initiatives.
• Manages, develops and mentors regional development staff, providing leadership, guidance and performance oversight.
• Develops and implements fundraising strategies and goals in partnership with development leadership.
• Cultivates relationships with donors, trustees, volunteers, physicians and senior administrators to advance philanthropic support.
• Oversees fundraising operations, including budgets, reporting, prospect management, donor documentation and compliance requirements.

Based in the Los Angeles area, this role requires approximately 30% local and national travel. When not traveling, team members are generally expected to work from the Los Angeles office four days per week to support collaboration, leadership and donor engagement activities.
