Role Description The Managing Director role at Northwestern Mutual is a full-time, on-site position based in Gilbert, AZ. The Managing Director is responsible for leading and developing a local financial advisory team, including recruiting, onboarding, training, and mentoring financial professionals to drive growth and client success. This role oversees business planning and performance, sets strategic goals for the office, and ensures alignment with Northwestern Mutual’s standards, compliance requirements, and client service principles. Day-to-day activities include coaching advisors on prospecting and client relationship management, monitoring production and operational metrics, and collaborating with corporate partners to implement firm-wide initiatives and best practices. The Managing Director also represents Northwestern Mutual in the local market, building community relationships and promoting the brand to attract clients and talent.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Development
- Recruit, train, and mentor a team of financial representatives and advisors to build a productive and cohesive team.
- Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to all team members to ensure professional development and achievement of business objectives.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement development plans to support career growth.
Business Development
- Drive business growth by setting and achieving sales targets, expanding the client base, and increasing market penetration.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve company goals and objectives.
- Foster relationships with key community stakeholders, business leaders, and industry partners to enhance the company’s presence and reputation in the market.
Client Service
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality client service by overseeing the client experience and ensuring client needs are met.
- Resolve complex client issues and ensure client satisfaction.
- Promote a client-first culture by modeling and reinforcing the importance of client relationships.
- Operational Management
- Manage the daily operations of the office, including budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
- Monitor and analyze business metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Financial Oversight
- Oversee financial performance, including revenue generation, expense management, and profitability.
- Develop and manage office budgets and financial plans.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Qualifications
- SIE, Series 7, Series 63
- Life and Health License
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional designation (e.g., CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®) preferred.
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role within the financial services industry.
- Demonstrable success in recruiting, developing, and leading high-performing teams.
- Strong track record of achieving business growth and financial targets.
- In-depth knowledge of financial planning, insurance products, and investment strategies.

Compensation Package:
- 1099 contract
- Commission only
- Pay: $100,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
- Commission pay
