SIFMA seeks a talented Managing Director and Associate General Counsel to join the Office of General Counsel in Washington, DC or New York, NY . The Associate General Counsel will report to the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities
- Preparing and reviewing written advocacy, including comment letters to the SEC, CFTC, FINRA, NFA and other regulators, in connection with proposed rules and changes to existing rules and standards.
- Leading SIFMA Committee Meetings with member firm representatives on broker‑dealer compliance issues, particularly with respect to broker‑dealer regulatory capital, liquidity and accounting issues.
- Engaging with regulators, legislators, market participants and the public through seminars, meetings, conferences, speeches and publications to advance SIFMA priorities.
- Coordinating with outside counsel on comment letters and policy issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor from an accredited university.
- 10+ years of legal/regulatory experience in the securities industry.
- Demonstration of excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Commitment to provide superior client service to internal and external stakeholders, including member firms.
- Demonstration of strong work ethic, commitment, and issue spotting.

Salary Range
$250,000 - $300,000
Also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
