Managing Counsel Real Estate

A growing residential real estate developer and homebuilder is hiring its first dedicated in-house attorney. This is a rare opportunity to own the real estate legal function from day one, serving as the primary day-to-day legal partner to the builders, design, and realty teams across two active developments.

What You\'ll Do

• Lead and manage the full range of residential real estate and construction agreements, including purchase and sale agreements, reservation agreements, builder agreements, construction contracts, and resale contracts, from drafting through negotiation and execution.
• Serve as the responsive, day-to-day legal partner to the business, providing clear, practical advice on contract interpretation, risk allocation, and execution in real time.
• Investigate and resolve complex title and restrictive covenant matters, including title defects, clouded-title issues, and the interpretation of declarations and governing documents.
• Draft, review, and maintain HOA and community association governing documents, and lead the establishment of governing documents for new development.
• Support new construction, new home sales, and resale transactions, reviewing deeds, easements, title commitments, and related real property documents.
• Develop and maintain the forms, templates, and processes that support the speed and volume of the business.

What We\'re Looking For

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• Minimum 8 years in residential real estate, development, and transactional law.
• Solid experience in title and restrictive covenant matters, with the ability to manage complex issues independently.
• A proven record drafting and negotiating a high volume of real estate and construction agreements.
• Practical, business-minded judgment and the ability to advise operational teams in real time.

Located either in the Dallas–Fort Worth area or The Woodlands, Texas.
