Managing Consultant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Managing Consultant / Office Leader to launch and lead Proclinical's new Raleigh office. This is a unique opportunity to join at the early stages of a new office and play a key role in building the team, establishing the office culture, and driving its growth and success.

This is a player-coach leadership role, combining responsibility for team leadership, recruitment delivery, business development, and office growth with individual contribution and revenue generation. The successful candidate will initially play a hands-on role in recruitment and business development while also having the opportunity to build, hire, and develop a high-performing recruitment team.

Responsibilities

• Individual Contribution: Maintain an individual recruitment and commercial desk, managing searches, building client relationships, developing new business opportunities, and contributing directly to revenue generation
• Lead Recruitment Delivery: Oversee day-to-day recruitment activity, ensuring roles are appropriately prioritized, qualified, and progressed through the recruitment process
• Team Leadership & Development: Manage, coach, and develop recruiters and consultants to improve performance, productivity, and career progression
• Performance Management: Set clear expectations and monitor individual and team performance against KPIs, activity levels, revenue targets, and delivery goals
• Collaborate with internal teams: Work with delivery and sales teams to ensure that client expectations are met and deliverables are aligned with client goals
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, systems, tools, and ways of working as the Raleigh office develops

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience within recruitment or staffing, with experience in a Life Sciences environment
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Previous experience managing, mentoring, or leading a recruitment team
• Proven track record of delivering against recruitment and/or revenue targets
• Experience managing client relationships and delivering recruitment solutions
• Strong understanding of recruitment processes, sourcing strategies, candidate engagement, and delivery best practices
• Strong coaching and people-management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and hold team members accountable
• Commercially minded with a willingness and ability to contribute individually to business growth
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance individual production with leadership responsibilities
