Role Description

The successful candidate will play a key role in our growing Americas Downstream consulting practice by leading the management and delivery of a variety of strategic and commercial consulting projects. The role requires creative thinking, analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. You will frequently engage with senior client teams across North and Latin America and collaborate with colleagues across consulting, research, and sales.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute complex analysis of commodity markets and project economics, leveraging industry research and expertise.
  • Build and present compelling presentations conveying key messages and recommendations for senior audiences.
  • Act as Project Manager, coordinating and managing consulting projects by setting up detailed project plans and working with the team to execute milestones.
  • Build and maintain an internal network across consulting, research, and sales to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients and the firm.
  • Actively coach teammates, advancing the development of consulting skills and processes across the practice.
  • Support the creation and review of consulting proposals that create strategic insight for clients and value for the firm.
  • Bring a thorough and current understanding of refining and oil markets within the context of the energy transition, and be able to discuss recent events and implications with clients and colleagues.
  • Actively engage in broader consulting practice activities such as recruiting, training, and operational improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, statistics, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Top‑tier master’s and/or MBA preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in management consulting, investment banking, energy‑focused consulting, or related strategic/commercial/planning/operating role with exposure to refining, midstream, and oil markets.
  • Strong understanding of the energy value chain, including the implications of the energy transition.
  • Strong understanding of commercial operations, business models, and strategies.
  • Track record of quickly becoming knowledgeable and speaking credibly about a wide range of subjects and themes.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with clients or senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing key project workflows and overall coordination of projects in a Project Manager role preferred.
