Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide strategic leadership for the Tutoring & Learning Center by ensuring every student has access to coordinated, high-quality academic support that promotes learning, engagement, persistence, and completion.
The position creates a student-ready academic support environment where students, faculty, and staff partner to advance student learning and success through comprehensive tutoring, coaching, and learning support services. Through the cultivation of a collaborative, supportive, and high-performing team culture, the development of strong campus partnerships, and the use of data-informed decision making, this position continuously improves innovative, student-centered services that align with the College's mission and strategic priorities.
The salary for this position begins at $71,557.00 and is commensurate with education and experience.

Principal Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership & Student Success
  • Provide strategic leadership for the Tutoring & Learning Center by establishing departmental priorities, advancing innovative academic support services, and continuously improving programs that promote student learning, academic achievement, persistence, and completion
  • Align departmental priorities with institutional goals and student success outcomes
  • Lead the development, implementation, and assessment of academic support initiatives
  • Advance innovative practices that enhance student learning and academic success.
Leadership, Supervisor & Organizational Culture
  • Recruit, develop, supervise, and evaluate departmental staff while fostering a collaborative, supportive, and high-performing workplace culture that promotes accountability, innovation, and exceptional student service
  • Develop staff through coaching, mentoring, and performance management
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, trust, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Lead organizational change through effective communication and employee engagement.
Partnerships, Collaboration & Student Engagement
  • Develop and strengthen collaborative partnerships that enhance academic support services and advance institutional initiatives that promote student learning, academic achievement, persistence, and completion
  • Build collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, and community partners
  • Promote coordinated academic support through campus partnerships and shared initiatives
  • Represent the department on institutional committees and strategic projects.
Assessment, Data, & Resource Management
  • Lead the assessment and management of departmental resources to support evidence-based decision making, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Utilize data to evaluate programs and inform strategic decisions
  • Develop, administer, and monitor the departmental budget while ensuring responsible stewardship of financial resources and compliance with institutional policies and reporting requirements
  • Manage departmental staffing, technology, facilities, and operational resources to support effective service delivery
Operational Excellence & Service Delivery
  • Ensure the effective delivery of high-quality academic support services by establishing operational standards, maintaining efficient processes, and promoting an exceptional student experience
  • Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Oversee the coordination of academic support services across delivery models
  • Evaluate and improve processes that enhance service quality and student access
Requirements
  • Minimum of a master's degree in education, adult education, higher education, student affairs, or a related field required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of higher education experience required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervision and budget management experience required
  • Demonstrated leadership in student success, academic support, and organizational development
  • Ability to develop collaborative partnerships across Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and other College divisions
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing professional and student staff
  • Strong assessment, analytical, budgeting, and strategic planning skills
  • Ability to interpret and utilize data to guide decision making and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience leading organizational change, managing multiple priorities, and implementing innovative initiatives
  • Knowledge of student success technologies, learning management systems, scheduling platforms, and reporting tools
