JOB SUMMARYThe Tax Manager's primary responsibilities include assisting outside tax firms in preparing federal and state returns. The role will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. The role will advise and provide leadership oversight in all areas of tax for the executive management team.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESAssists outside tax firm in preparing federal, and state returns. Prepare local and special tax returns by collecting, analyzing and formatting financial information.Comply with federal, state, and local requirements by studying regulations; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions; communicating with attorneys, and tax specialists to ensure timely tax reporting requirementsMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.Contribute to the finance team’s effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects, monthly and quarterly provision computations, preparing estimated tax payments, overseeing monthly sales tax compliance across entities, responsible for all compliance across entities.Provide leadership and oversight in all areas of tax for the executive management team.KNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTSMinimum years of work experience: 8 yearsMinimum of 5-10 years in public accounting practice as a tax professional with experience in corporate, state and local taxMinimum of 3-5 years of professional tax experience in a corporate tax department outside public practiceBachelors Degree in TaxationTravel Requirements: Domestic and/or International, up to >10%PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSFrequent sitting in stationary position at a deskOccasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and climbing stairsOccasional twisting of bodyOccasional reaching by extending hands and arms in any directionOccasional lifting, pulling, or pushing
