- Build and manage a team of engineers with a focus on delivering Commercial Insurance products
- Help drive business transformation from traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence
- Innovate and build new engineering solutions and leverage existing solutions to solve operational problems
- Lead execution of a technical roadmap to increase product delivery velocity and unlock new engineering capabilities
- Enhance application performance, improve user experience, and drive efficient test automation
- Collaborate with the engineering staff to improve and enhance existing solutions
Requirements
- Proven management experience leading teams of 5+ engineers
- Strong background in delivering digital - web and/or mobile - products at scale
- Ability to prioritize and drive results based on business value to the organization
- Fluency with at least one modern language such as Python, Java
- Strong critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to concentrate and demonstrate a capacity for learning technical concepts and adapting to new technologies quickly
- Strong Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure etc.) platform knowledge
- Proficiency in Project Management and work item management tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps
- Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and core computer science concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to both Senior Leadership, highly technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and build and release practices in commercial insurance
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including software development lifecycle best practices
- 5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment
- 5+ years of hands-on work experience supervising personnel in a technical environment
- 2+ years' experience with automated testing including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End functional testing
