Manager, Purchasing (Lab)Location: DeLand, FL – Hybrid: 2 day onsite and 3 days home each weekEmployment Type: Full-time The Manager, Purchasing (Lab) leads the day-to-day operations of the purchasing and supplies department at DaVita Labs. You will manage procurement and inventory control processes, build and maintain vendor relationships, and oversee departmental budgets. You'll also ensure compliance with DaVita's quality and purchasing standards while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team.
This role reports to the Director, Materials Management.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee procurement, inventory control, and vendor managementForecast procurement needs; analyze data and create reportsManage departmental budgets and financial performanceNegotiate service contracts and track compliance/documentationDevelop and implement purchasing SOPs and best practicesManage and approve online purchase requisitionsProvide leadership and development for purchasing teamCoordinate with legal and leadership on vendor contract lifecycleMonitor purchasing performance metrics and KPIsPrepare and deliver reports and presentations to leadershipEnsure regulatory and policy compliance (OSHA, Medicare, etc.)Support internal and external customers with supply needsVet, audit, and evaluate vendors for performance and complianceOversee disposal of surplus inventory and materialsMust-Have Qualifications5+ years of experience in purchasing or contractingBachelor's degree in a related fieldStrong leadership and team development skillsAbility to work cross-functionally across teams and with vendorsUnderstanding of wage/hour, federal, state, and local employment lawsRequired SkillsProcurement and inventory controlVendor relationship managementBudget and contract managementStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Experience with MRP systems and purchasing practicesPreferred SkillsExperience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare environmentFamiliarity with kidney care is a plusExperience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)Proficiency in Microsoft SQL and Crystal Reporting
