Pharmacy IT/Billing Manager
The Pharmacy IT/Billing Manager will serve as the expert for various IT pharmacy applications Automated Dispensing Cabinets, Split-Billing Software, Electronic Medical Record, Physician Order Entry System, Pre-packing technology, inventory technologies, etc to department staff; and facilitates communication between the IT department and the pharmacy on selected technology-related needs. Provides ongoing support for the various department hardware and software programs. In addition, the position is responsible for aggregating and analyzing data based on requests from senior leadership, hospital management, and staff. Maintains compliance with regulatory agency requirements; and schedules and attends meetings (e.g. nursing orientation, pharmacy-nursing committee). This person will also oversee the charge master liaison and work with pharmacy administration to assure proper billing processes.
Responsibilities
Oversees all medicines are properly mapped into the computerized order entry system (CPOE) and other pharmacy technologies (340B Split Billing Software, Prepacking technology, etc.)
Oversees the optimization of inventories within the ADCs for all of BHC; assists with annual physical inventory of medications stocked in various departments.
Develops accurate data files and spreadsheets that consist of the daily pharmacy charge reports and revenue reports; maintains responsibility for compiling data based on requests from senior leadership, pharmacy administration, and staff.
Oversees the weekly report to the State regarding vaccine usage.
Maps cdms/ndcs in split billing software; help buyer(s) with various challenges utilizing the software; report abnormalities/challenges to pharmacy administration.
Manages / maintains all pharmacy automation for the system.
Develops / writes new computer programs to optimize the services provide by pharmacy to include, but not limited to, clinical applications, regulatory applications, and auditing programs; maintains systems with updates or formulary changes, including new item builds and assignments within ADCs.
Creates Service Requests (SRs) for employees as necessary.
Manages team members, which includes orientation, development and evaluation of personnel, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates their performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to staff, recommends in-service education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards.
Maintains responsibility for the fiscal management of the pharmacy department and ensures the proper utilization of the organization's financial resources.
Maintains responsibility for the department's operational excellence and ensures that the department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Effectively communicates departmental, organizational, and industrial information to staff.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Computer Information Technology, Health Care Administration Required or
Four years of related experience in lieu of bachelor's degree Required
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Pharmacy Technician State of Florida Upon Hire Required
