Manager of Financial Reporting

Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 + 20% Bonus + Equity

Company Description:

Our publicly traded real estate client is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting to join its growing accounting organization. Reporting directly to the VP of Financial Reporting, this individual will own significant portions of the company's external SEC reporting process while playing a key role in supporting internal controls and technical accounting matters during a period of rapid, multi-billion-dollar growth. The ideal candidate must have public accounting and/or SEC reporting experience and strong technical accounting knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of significant portions of the company's quarterly and annual SEC filings, including drafting complex financial statement disclosures
• Coordinate the quarterly reporting timeline and deliverables across cross-functional teams
• Prepare journal entries related to technical accounting matters, including impairment and fair value adjustments
• Prepare quarterly flux analyses and disclosure checklists, ensuring completeness and accuracy ahead of leadership review
• Serve as a key liaison for external auditors during quarterly reviews and the annual audit
• Prepare and review audit requests and supporting documentation
• Drive the process of gathering and organizing information needed for external reporting deadlines
• Maintain and enhance SOX 404 internal controls documentation in partnership with internal and external audit teams
• Identify and implement enhancements to accounting and reporting systems and processes
• Support leadership with ad hoc analyses, technical accounting memos, and special projects
• Conduct peer benchmarking and industry research to support reporting and disclosure decisions
• Partner cross-functionally with legal, tax, asset management, and finance teams on reporting matters

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Public accounting and/or SEC reporting experience is required
• CPA license is requiredWorking knowledge of technical accounting areas
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, business leaders, and external agencies
