ThispositionisresponsibleforworkingindependentlyandproactivelyonnumerouscomplexfinancialreportingandaccountingtasksandwillbeaninstrumentalmemberoftheAccountingteam.Thispositionisresponsibleforthesupervisionofotherfinancialreportingstaff.
EssentialDutiesandResponsibilities
Thispositioncomeswiththefollowingminimumsetofresponsibilitiesandrequiresanindividualtobeproficientinperformingthelistedduties:
- ResponsibleforensuringthefinancialstatementsareinlinewithGAAP.
- Responsiblefordraftingandcompletingtechnicalaccountingmemosasneeded.
- Responsibleforproducingmonthly,quarterly,andannualfinancialstatements(byentityandconsolidated).
- Responsibleforreviewsandtie-outofinternalandexternalmonthly,quarterly,andannualfinancialstatements.
- Responsibleforperformingmonth-end,quarter-end,andyear-endclosingduties.
- Responsibleforanalyticalreviewoffinancialstatements(includingreviewofBSAndISvarianceanalyses).
- Responsibleforpreparingschedulesunderlyingfinancialstatementsanddisclosures.
- ResponsibleforpostingaccrualsforAdValorem,G&A,Interest,Bonus,LOE,andRevenue.
- Responsibleforreconcilingaccountbalances,includingCash,A/R,O&GAssets,A/P,Accruals,Debt,andARO.
- Responsibleforcompletingad-hocanalysis,varianceanalysis,andspecialprojectsthatrequireknowledgeofofilandgasaccounting.
- Responsibleforvariousreportingpackagestooutsideentitiesandauditors.
- Responsibleformaintainingemployeeconfidenceandtheprotectionofcorporateassets,includingintellectualproperty,bykeepinginformationconfidential.
- Responsibleforsupervisingotherfinancialreportingstaff.
- ResponsibleforworkingsafelywithinVerdun’shealth,safety,andenvironmentalstandards,lookingoutforthepeoplearoundthem,andactivelysupportingHS&EprogramsandpoliciesthroughouttheCompany.
- Allotherdutiesandresponsibilitiesassignedbymanagement
Qualifications&Skills
Belowaretheminimumeducation,experience,andskillsrequiredorpreferredforthisposition:
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’sdegreeinbusiness,finance,accounting,orequivalentpreferred.
- Atleast7years’oilandgasaccountingorfinancialreportingexperiencerequired.
- BigFourorauditexperiencewithknowledgeofSECreportingandcontrolspreferred.
OtherSkills
- Abilitytomeetstrictdeadlinesbyworkingoff-hoursasrequiredtoachievegoals.
- Abilitytoworkindependentlyonmultiplediversetasksofdifferingprioritieswithoutsupervision.
ComputerSkills
- ProficientwiththeMicrosoftOfficesuite.
- WorkingknowledgeofBOLOaccountingsoftwarepreferred.
