The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing-related accounting and is comfortable working cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and finance. This role offers the opportunity to expand beyond day-to-day accounting responsibilities through process improvement, analysis, automation, and broader ownership of the function.

Salary Range: $125,000-$135,000

Responsibilities:
n• Own recurring cost and inventory accounting close activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
n• Perform and review inventory valuation, cost analysis, variance analysis, and other cost accounting activities.
n• Analyze cost and inventory results, investigate fluctuations, and communicate meaningful findings to business partners.
n• Support budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and other financial analysis activities.
n• Maintain and improve cost accounting policies, procedures, controls, and supporting documentation.
n• Support external audit requests related to cost and inventory accounting.
n• Partner with operations, supply chain, finance, and other stakeholders to understand cost drivers and support business decisions.
n• Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy, accessibility, and scalability of cost accounting data and reporting.
n• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives that reduce manual effort and improve data quality.
n• Continue developing into a broader leadership role through increased ownership, cross-functional partnership, and involvement in strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:
n• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong concentration in cost and inventory accounting.
n• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis.
n• Experience working within a manufacturing, product-based, or other inventory-intensive environment.
n• Ability to independently own cost accounting activities and manage priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
n• Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate complex cost information and communicate findings clearly.
n• Experience partnering with operations, supply chain, finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
n• Demonstrated initiative and readiness to take on increased responsibility and broader ownership.
n• Process improvement mindset with an interest in automation, technology, and analytics.
n• Experience working within ERP environments; exposure to Oracle or SAP is preferred.
n• Public company experience or experience within a complex accounting environment is preferred.
