Job Description:Position Summary:Responsible to assist the Operations Manager in the development and attainment of the business through setting goals and strategies as related to manufacturing and materials.  Assists the Operations Manager in budget planning and forecasting and adheres to all policies and procedures in manufacturing as related to materials management.Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for the safety and health of all functional Team MembersEnsure cycle counts are performed as requiredManage all inventory levels consistent with the requirements of World Class ManufacturingDevelop continuous improvement initiatives to reduce inventory, work in process (WIP), raw materials, and finished goods without effecting customer delivery or decrease in volumeDevelop and implement a tactical material flow planning process for production planning departments.  Drive WIP inventory reduction planning and stock inventory levels to meet monthly reduction requirements. Develops policy and procedure for plant operations that are consistent with materials management which include the support of all quality systemEnsure corporate and or plant policies and procedures are reviewed and updated to reflect customer requirements of delivery and its information transfer to the customerAccountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline Provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers Supports and adheres to quality and partners in the achievement of IATFSupports the achievement and maintenance of ISO 14001May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this descriptionEducation and Qualifications:Six+ years of materials management experienceBachelor’s degree or equivalent requiredProven leadership and managerial skills, interpersonal skills, and personal development.Strong written and oral communication skillsStrong problem solving and analytical skillsTechnical knowledge in automotive manufacturingStrong organization skillWillingness and ability to travel, as necessaryWork Environment/Work Conditions:Professional Office EnvironmentMust wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floorTravel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when requiredEquipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injuryPosition Type:RegularAdditional Locations:Additional Information:Cooper Standard is proud of its diverse workforce and committed to providing equal employment opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, genetic information, physical or mental disability, age, veteran or military status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
