This position will be in Palmdale, CA, where technology and teamwork come together.The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Tooling organization, working collaboratively while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.Key Responsibilities:Oversee and manage the daily production availability of all automated equipment.Responsible for the performance, status, sustainment, and continuous improvement of both equipment and processes.Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for a wide range of automated production processes such as drilling robots, painting robots, automated guided vehicles, and various automated technologies.Establish and sustain the maximum availability of production automation through planned maintenance, optimization, and event recovery.Organize a broad range of specialized training for engineering and production operation personnel.Use advanced programming and analysis tools to maintain the Automation organizations body of knowledge, establish role and responsibility requirements, recognize strengths and opportunities in employee competency, and foster team development events.Determine proper staffing requirements, resource assignments, and sustain a staff of individuals to ensure our charter and customers goals are realized.We offer flexible work arrangements, 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off, phenomenal learning opportunities, exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, and a very friendly team environment. Finally, We pioneer: setting a vision that shapes the future and inspires others.Basic Qualifications:Must have Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) AND 5 years of related engineering experience in tooling, assembly / fabrication lines including composites, metallic, coatings application, production manufacturing operations, and implementing technology into a production environment OR a Master's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) AND 3 years of related engineering experience in tooling, assembly / fabrication lines including composites, metallic, coatings application, production manufacturing operations, and implementing technology into a production environmentMust have 2 years of leadership or management experienceExperience with CAD (e.g. NX, Teamcenter, CATIA, SolidWorks)Demonstrated experience leading large-scale tooling initiatives for complex hardware (structures, assembles, or propulsion).Knowledge of composite fabrication and tooling, concepts.Must have the ability to obtain DoD secret clearance and Special program access.Preferred Qualifications:Assembly automation experience, troubleshooting design and installation experience.Knowledge of composite fabrication and tooling, concepts.Experience designing in 3D CAD e.g., CATIA, NX, CREO etc.Firm understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-upProject Management skills (proposal creation, scheduling, budget tracking)Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)Ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendorsUnderstanding of Coordination of design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers, both internal and externalCollaborate with key stakeholders - Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, Tooling Quality, and Production teams to negotiate requirements, develop proposals, manage requirements deliverables, and ensure compliance with company and state standardsProven ability to manage cross-functions programs, balancing cost, schedule, and performance.Experience within the aerospace, automotive, or production related industry and/or with automated systems/machinesExperience in the development, capture, and execution of R&D technology capabilitiesExperience assessing maturity of new technology for transition to productionExperience with authoring proposals, technical documents, and proceduresProgram management experience and PMP certificationExperience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and tooling assemblies or equipmentThe ability to demonstrate project management skills and problem-solving skills while supporting multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience with drilling, CNC, and advanced manufacturing technologiesExperience with statistical analysis / green belt Six SigmaCertification with using earned value management system (EVMS) for tracking project financialsExperience with machine controls, electrical theory, PLC ladder logicExperience with robotics and robotic programingUnderstanding and experience with CBA/ROI analysis and justificationCurrent and active DOD Secret or Top-Secret ClearanceCurrent Program SpecialPrimary Level Salary Range: $133,100.00 - $199,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
