An inclusive and diverse workforce strengthens us and allows for a collaborative environment to solve the challenges that face our industry today and in the future.Job DutiesManage the team that develops and coordinates the ERCOT Large Load planning and Batch studies, develop transmission system upgrades costing from $50 million to over $1 billionLeads and develops Large Load Batch Zero process and subsequent studies, identify Large Load allocation for near-term and recommend actionable transmission projects to address long-term reliability issue.Controls departmental budget to achieve financial goalsEvaluates and recommends transmission system upgrades to resolve reliability criteria violations or improve the economic efficiency of the ERCOT SystemOversees steady state power flow contingency and congestion management plan analysisStructures appropriate planning studies and sensitivity analyses to determine the need for improvements and evaluates proposed projects, including technical and financial analyses to perform the functions listed aboveCoordinate with cross-functional teams and matrixed work efforts that align Planning, Interconnection and Network Modeling on Large Load interconnection policy, study standards, and implementation practices.Develops new or revised transmission planning techniques and processes to meet system and market needs; recommends protocol or procedural changes for transmission planning mattersLeads and/or represents ERCOT in technical committees and subcommittees and state and national policy groups such as the North American Reliability Council (NERC)Represents ERCOT in stakeholder forums, committees, and working groupsServes as expert witness on ERCOT transmission planning and Large Load integration mattersRequired ExperienceRequires minimum 8 years job related work experience and 2 years in a leadership role in excess of degree requirements. Minimum years of job-related experience can include time in leadership roles.Preferred ExperiencePrefers minimum 5 years of work experience in transmission planning, operation planning, load interconnection, and/or generation interconnectionExperience in the ERCOT market or other ISOExperience leading large projects and mentoring othersExperience with powerflow and stability analysisExperience presenting to internal and external stakeholdersExperience leading discussions in planning and / or operations related stakeholder working groupsEducationBachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering or related field (Required)Master's Degree: Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Preferred)or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is requiredCertificationPE Professional Engineer (Preferred)Work Location – Taylor, TX:Employees will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at a minimum of 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on the business needs as determined by managementRemote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence.Employees may opt to work on-site more than required or 100% of the timeERCOT is firmly committed to equal employment for all qualified persons without regard to race, sex, medical condition, religion, age, creed, national origin, citizenship status, marital status, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, ancestry, veteran status, genetic information or any other protected category under federal, state or local law.Expected Salary Range: $159,000 - $218,000
