Job Description
As a Domain expert in IT Healthcare Integrations and Interoperability solutions with an understanding of Healthcare Payer/Provider clinical data exchange you will own and lead valuable deliveries that improve the health experience of our members. This role will interact and participate in the implementation and operation of Epic Payer Platform. Experience with Epic EHR and/or Epic Payer Platform implementation or operations will give an edge to applicants.
You will lead and manage IT teams through successful delivery of solutions to address business needs. Manage ongoing maintenance of related systems. Manage relationships with business and technology partners. Perform all people leader tasks. Maintain and enforce ideal architecture for applications under your domain.
Responsibilities
- Leads an IT Solution Delivery team responsible for the successful delivery of enterprise-wide projects.
- Aligns and guides business partners and collaborates on delivery roadmap to meet KPIs and milestones.
- Aligns technology stack, delivery team, delivery partner planning and vendor partners to the multi-year delivery roadmap.
- Stays up to date on Interoperability standards, versions, implementation guides, and industry movement.
- Contributes and steers architecture solutions and collaborates with the architecture team on solutions for applications under his/her domain.
- Manages and guides detailed design, development and integration activities for IT solutions.
- Provides concurrent oversight to multiple projects generally accountable to a single business division.
- Delivers complex communication of status and issues to senior leadership, VPs, and stakeholders.
- Is accountable for managing relationships with internal and external business stakeholders, vendors and other delivery partners.
- Is accountable for implementing technical solutions to adhere with IT guiding principles and imperatives.
- Contributes to the evolution and delivery of the IT strategy inclusive of architectural patterns, standards and best practices.
- Is accountable to maintain application health and performance through enforcement of architecture decisions.
- Performs analytic functions and coaches team members in technical and analytical production.
- Guides team through assessment of alternative systems approaches for workability and economic feasibility.
- Responsible for end-to-end vendor management for IT partners.
- Assists departments with strategic analysis to provide recommendations that ensure quality, cost effectiveness, goals, regulatory requirements and mandates are met through IT solutions in a timely fashion.
- Provides direct reports with well‑defined job expectations, ongoing performance feedback, accurate and timely performance appraisals, coaching, mentoring, training, and conflict resolution.
- Plays a key role in definition of the solution delivery methodology and enforces the adherence of associated procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
- 3+ years of leading IT deployment teams
- 8+ years of experience in related field
- In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in related field
Bonus Points
- Payer/Provider clinical data exchange use‑cases
- Background in SMART on FHIR applications and strategies
- Electronic Prior Authorization (ePA), Quality Care Gaps, Risk Adjustment (HCCs), HEDIS, FHIR implementation guides
- Epic Payer Platform integration and operations
- Similar experiences in hospital information systems roles
- Knowledge in interoperability and HL7 FHIR, FHIR work groups and governing bodies (Da Vinci, Carin, Sequoia, NCQA, CMS, etc.)

Where You'll Work
Our Hybrid Flex approach is built on presence with a purpose—giving you flexibility to work remotely with intentional in‑person connection. In a Hybrid‑Flex role, you’ll work in the office at least two days a week for collaboration and connection. In a Remote‑Flex role, you’ll work virtually, with a few in‑office visits each year for meaningful moments that matter. Whether your role is Hybrid Flex or Remote Flex depends on the nature of the work and distance from our Durham headquarters. Salary Range

$130,560.00 – $208,896.00
