LeadEstimating&Preconstruction

• Leadtheestimatingprocessforindustrialmechanicalandlightcommercialprojectsfromopportunityevaluationthroughbidsubmissionandprojectturnover.


• Developandreviewdetailedestimatesforprojectsofvaryingsizeandcomplexity.


• Establishconsistentestimatingstandards,procedures,templates,andquality-controlprocesses.


• Lead,mentor,anddevelopestimatingpersonnelwhilecreatingacultureofaccountability,collaboration,andcontinuousimprovement.


• Reviewdrawings,specifications,P&IDs,pipingisometrics,equipmentschedules,biddocuments,andcontractrequirements.


• Performandoverseedetailedquantitytakeoffsformechanical,piping,equipment,structural,andlightcommercialscopes.


• Developandreviewlabor,productivity,equipment,material,subcontractor,andindirectcostestimates.


• Solicit,evaluate,compare,andlevelsubcontractorandsupplierproposals.


• Identifyscopegaps,exclusions,assumptions,constructabilityissues,andprojectrisksbeforebidsaresubmitted.


• Supportbid/no-biddecisionsandstrategicpursuitevaluations.

• Challengeassumptionswhennecessaryandprovidemeaningfulinsightintohowaprojectshouldbepricedandpursued.


• Workcloselywithoperationsandprojectmanagementtovalidateconstructionmethods,manpowerrequirements,productivityexpectations,equipmentneeds,andschedules.


• Helpensurethatestimatesaccuratelyreflecthowprojectswillbebuiltandtherisksassociatedwithdeliveringthem.


• Leadthetransitionfromestimatingtooperationsfollowingprojectaward.

RequiredExperience&Skills

• 7–10+yearsofconstructionestimatingexperiencepreferred.


• ExperienceasaSeniorEstimator,LeadEstimator,ChiefEstimator,EstimatingManager,orsimilarleadershiprole.


• Strongexperiencewithindustrialmechanicalconstruction ,includingprocesspiping,pipefabricationandinstallation,mechanicalequipmentinstallation,equipmentsettingandrigging,andstructuralsupports.


• Experiencewithlightcommercialconstructionisaplus.


• Abilitytoreadandinterpretconstructiondrawings,specifications,P&IDs,pipingisometrics,andcontractdocuments.


• Strongunderstandingoflaborproductivity,crewcomposition,equipmentutilization,materialpricing,subcontractorcosts,andconstructionmeansandmethods.


• Experiencemanaging,mentoring,anddevelopingestimatingpersonnel.
