Manager, Corporate Action Supervision
Contributes to the overall success of the Securities Settlements team in NY ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
What You’ll Do
Typical Day in Role:
- Monitor Daily Reorg and Dividend payments and spot check for timeliness and accuracy.
- Check all Voluntary Reorg Summaries on expiration/processing date.
- Compare voluntary expiration spreadsheet vs the Reorg system expiration dates and report any discrepancies.
- Monitor General Ledger and identify out of balances and aged issues. Contact Toronto C/A team for resolution.
- Ensure that the Toronto Corporate Actions/Entitlement team fully adheres to NY’s SLA.
- Research, review and update Broadridge Reorg and Dividend Broadridge B1s for new business requirements and possible improvements of current system processes.
- Maintain strong relationships with the desks, operations teams, and all support groups.
- Investigate each close‑of‑business seg deficit and determine type, root cause, and owner.
- Supervisor/four‑eyed approval of all manual seg movement requests at depositories.
- Seg preventive functions on S/D to determine if shorts have been covered. Work with M/O and desk to resolve which will prevent seg deficits; this includes reviewing the trades due to settle on the current day and monitoring real‑time positions at the depots to avoid a seg deficit the following day.
- Support operational projects to enhance, modify, or change various systems and processes in the department.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence, and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

What You’ll Bring
- Series 99
- 5+ Years Corp Actions/Possession and Control experience.
- Systems knowledge should include, but is not mandatory, Broadridge BPS (Stock Record, Margin, PCAN, REOR, Div Rewrite), Postedge, DTC.
- Skilled Microsoft Excel user.
