Position Summary
TheManager, Central Sterile provides 24/7 oversight and leadership of sterile processing operations, ensuring that all instruments, equipment, and medical devices are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained in compliance withAAMI, AORN, OSHA, FDA, and CDC standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct daily sterile processing operations to ensure timely support for all surgical and procedural areas.
Oversee staff performance, technical training, and continuing education programs.
Develop and implement departmental policies for infection control and quality assurance.
Collaborate withPerioperative Services and Supply Chain leadership on equipment purchasing and workflow improvement.
Provide data on quality performance measures to theDirector of Perioperative Services.
Serve as a liaison with surgeons, OR staff, and senior hospital leadership to optimize communication and process efficiency.
Maintain a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an approved Central Service Technology course required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Strong background ininstrumentation and surgical services (inpatient and outpatient).
Familiarity withAAMI, AORN, OSHA, FDA, and CDC standards.
Skilled in computer systems for database management and reporting.
Experience in aunionized environment preferred.
Current CST certification, AHA BLS, and LA County Fire Card (within 30 days of hire).
