Providing day-to-day management and development for your team, you will manage projects to ensure seamless delivery, implementation, support, and issue resolution. Using your knowledge and experience with technology, you will help guide our organization to implement solutions that will move us forward and keep us ahead of the competition.As a Penske Manager of Asset Management Systems, you will be leading a team focused on key software development, enhancements, and maintenance. Working with your teams, stakeholders, and development partners/vendors to ensure implementation and help define architecture to create robust solutions.
Conducting performance reviews for your team and engineering process for quality assurance to ensure that deliverables are effective and meet the needs of the end-user. Guiding teams and removing roadblocks to ensure timely solutions, as well as growing your team of developers to advance in their careers are key tasks that help make sure, we can keep our organization moving forward. Fostering a partnership with business owners and key stakeholders to get the job done.Penske Responsibilities:Provide direction and day-to-day management of development staff to ensure that any roadblocks are removed, and developers/teams are successfully moving forwardMake sure that development projects are prioritized, scheduled, and completed according to business needFoster collaboration by leading regular meetings and communicating with process owners, product managers, agile teams, IT groups, and other stakeholders to negotiate priority and timelines while managing resources required to get the job doneHire new associates, conduct performance reviews, guide, and mentor their career developmentEnsure on time and defect-free delivery of applications in accordance with Penske standardsResponsibilities for multiple systems, agile teams, and cross-functional projectsOther projects, teams, and responsibilities as assigned by the managerFollow IT practices in security, licensing, source code management, incident management, and following architectural standardsCoach and mentor associates. Develop team members to increase value to the organizationReduce complexity in the environmentIdentify future opportunities for system enhancement and value generationPenske Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in computer science, Math or Information Systems or equivalent development experience.Green belt, Black belt, Lean or PMP certification preferred.12+ years of software development experience5+ years leading/supervising multiple IT projects through the full SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) including prior work defining complex application architecture and integration with multi-tiered systemsProven experience in leading and managing small to mid-size teamsProven experience in team development and performance managementExperience in migrating legacy applications to cloud platforms such as AWSExperience in implementing large scale applications with Event Driven and Domain Driven Architecture patternsSignificant functional experience (8+ years) with core Technologies and Architectures – Java Enterprise Technologies, Spring Boot, Spring Frameworks, Restful Web services, SOA, Angular, HTML/CSS, SQL, DB2/Oracle, Kafka, Cloud TechnologiesExperience in leading teams in custom development, evaluating, selecting, integrating, and implementing application software (package) solutions when appropriateStrong interpersonal and decision-making skillsExperience in building and managing relationships with various business and IT StakeholdersAble to communicate highly technical concepts in a clear/concise manner to non-technical individualsExperience in prioritizing technological needs within set budget requirementsKnowledge of project management methods and toolsStrong experience with Agile (SAFE) / DevOps approaches or methodologiesStrong knowledge of Integration technologies like Spring Integration Framework, API Management, Micro-servicesExpertise in leading the architecture, design & implementation of highly complex data integrations and data services by utilizing technologies such as Spring Boot, Angular, DB2/OracleAdvanced experience in working with the various IT teams to build and implement scalable architecture for relevant software solutionsFull fluency and expert-level knowledge in systems/languages applicable to the roleThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
