A rapidly growing alternative investment firm is seeking its first in-house Management Company Accounting leader to build and scale the financial infrastructure supporting a multi-billion-dollar platform.
The Opportunity This is a true builder role, not a maintenance position. You'll take ownership of the management company's accounting, tax, budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting functions while partnering directly with the COO/CFO and firm leadership.
The organization manages a diversified investment strategy spanning private credit, private equity, structured investments, and public markets, and has experienced significant growth since launch. The firm is investing heavily in infrastructure and looking for someone who wants to help build a best-in-class finance function.
Responsibilities:
- Own management company accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Manage tax coordination, partnership filings, and compliance processes
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and compensation accounting
- Drive the evaluation and migration from QuickBooks to a scalable accounting platform
- Partner with leadership on strategic finance and operational initiatives
- Build processes, controls, and infrastructure to support future growth
Qualifications:
- 7-12 years of accounting experience
- Management company, corporate accounting, asset management, or public accounting background
- Working knowledge of partnership and management company tax matters
- Strong general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close experience
- Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build from the ground up
- CPA preferred but not required
