Overview
Atlantic Imaging Services is seeking a per diem Mammography Technologist.
Responsibilities
- Performs mammographic, Dexa and planar X-ray procedures on patients according to state, federal, professional and departmental standards and guidelines.
- Reviews each requisition/questionnaire and records prior to the exam to ensure all pertinent information is available.
- Performs examinations with a high standard of accuracy in positioning. Selects appropriate technical factors to ensure quality images.
- Assembles and reviews patient data, history, proper two patient identifiers.
- Verifies physician orders and ensures information for radiologist’s interpretation is available (outside images, reports, etc.).
- Performs all computer functions properly to ensure proper patient charging and image interpretation.
- Performs patient charging and completes exam end procedures in EPIC/Centricity PACS.
- Proper utilization of the PenRad system.
- Accurately and effectively performs QA, maintains required annual licensure/CME and assists in tracking as per MQSA guidelines.
- Able to access, interpret, communicate and deliver age-appropriate care.
- Maintains open communication with site leadership and contributes to the team.
- Demonstrates ability to multi-task and prioritize; seeks pro-active solutions to address questions or concerns.
- Performs other duties as appointed by management.
Required
- Associate’s degree in an accredited RT Program or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a staff technologist in Mammography or relevant area.
- NJ State RT license.
- ARRT Mammography Certification.
- Current BLS certification.
Preferred
- Minimum of 200 mammography exams performed within past 24 months.
