Mammography Technologist Part-Time

Position Overview

Find your calling at Mercy! Provides screening and diagnostic mammography for interpretation by radiologists. If your primary job assignment includes special procedures, you will assist the radiologist in the performance of needle localizations and biopsies and provide the patient care essential to radiological procedures. Applies principles of radiation protection. Assists in general radiographic and office duties as needed. If your primary job assignment is on the mammography van, you will be able to drive the mobile unit to different sites throughout St. Louis and Franklin Counties.

Position Details

Under the direct supervision of the Mammography Supervisor and Senior Mammographer, performs professional mammography, education, and other women's services provided throughout the Breast Imaging department.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiology program. Prefer 40 hours of mammography training, but the right candidate will be trained.
• Licensure: ARRT registry within 6 months of hire; mammography registry taken at one year after training completion if not mammography certified.
• Experience: Two years of experience preferred in radiology and mammography.
• Certifications: ARRT certification required or registry eligible with 6 months of hire. Mammography registry taken after one year of completed training if not already mammography certified. Mammography certification required within a certain timeframe if a certified technologist is hired without mammography experience. BLS required.
• Other: Computer literate, good communication skills, ability to work in a fast‑pace environment, and teamwork.
