Mammography Technologist

Job Summary

$7,500 sign‑on bonus for eligible applicants. We are hiring a Mamo Tech I in Geisinger Wyoming Valley. Candidates may also be considered for Mamo Tech II based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocol and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety, improving patient care and applying ALARA principles.
• Prepare and/or administer medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluate images for proper positioning, acceptable technical quality, verify archival storage and/or transfer of data, and post‑process data if applicable.
• Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
• Image pathologic breast specimens as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Perform breast ultrasound procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Perform mammographic procedures per facility policy or as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Perform or assist with clinical breast examination.
• Work is typically performed in a clinical environment and is accountable for satisfying all job‑specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required upon hire; new graduates must obtain ARRT‑R registry prior to first day of employment.
• Certification by the ARRT in Mammography must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Graduate from Specialty Training Program‑Radiologic Technology (Required).
• Bachelor's Degree‑Related Field of Study (Preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year of related work experience (Preferred).
• Basic Life Support Certification.
• Radiography (R) – ARRT.
