Unified Mammography Services (UMAMS), a subsidiary of Unified Women’s Healthcare, is a comprehensive solution for in‑office breast imaging. We use top‑of‑the‑line equipment and expert staff with exceptional standards of care, embedded within our network of affiliated OBGYN practices. The goal is to offer patients an intimate, familiar in‑office environment for well‑woman visits and annual screening mammograms.
Position
Mammography Technologist – Abingdon, MD
Location: 3465 Box Hill Corporate Center Drive, Suite 700, Abingdon, MD 21009
Work Schedule: This position is for 30+ hours per week.
Job Summary
The Technologist will perform 3‑D digital mammography to assist in the diagnosis of disease in the OBGYN office. The ideal candidate works independently, uses excellent problem‑solving skills, and ensures a high level of quality and service to all patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform mammography imaging and quality control procedures.
- Ensure proper functioning of mammography equipment and address any malfunctions.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail during all procedures.
- Communicate with radiologists regarding mammographic exams.
- Apply analytical skills to interpret mammographic images, assess quality, and verify patient information.
- Accurately complete all patient information requirements and necessary paperwork.
- Complete administrative tasks to ensure timely exam interpretation.
- Maintain necessary medical records, including consents, billing, and supply monitoring.
- Ensure timely delivery of mammography results, escalating to management or a radiologist when results exceed standard turnaround times.
- Support the manager in maintaining MQSA and ACR requirements.
- Adhere to and maintain continuing education requirements mandated by MQSA.
Additional Job Functions
- All other job requests as assigned by the Mammography Operations Manager, Director of Imaging Operations, or Care Center Administrator.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program.
- ARRT Registration R.T.(R) Required.
- ARRT Certification in Mammography (M) Required.
- State Department of Radiation Control License (if applicable).
- Maintain registry status and continuing education.
- Minimum two years of mammography experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English as required by job duties.
- Must understand and follow safety instructions provided in English.
- Role requires reading and writing in English to complete documentation, reports, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to interact with customers, clients, or regulators in English as needed.
