Summary Of Mammography Technologist Role

This role involves providing mammography services according to physicians' orders, including preparing equipment, performing high-quality imaging, and developing films. The technologist must evaluate image quality, ensure patient comfort, and educate patients based on age-specific needs. Responsibilities include accurate data entry, maintaining safety standards to minimize radiation exposure, and adhering to regulations such as MQSA/ACR. The position requires strong customer service, communication, problem-solving skills , and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Key duties encompass patient identification, managing contrast media, and responding to contrast reactions. The role also involves maintaining a clean, organized radiology environment, participating in safety protocols, and rotating shifts as needed. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED , certified radiologic technologist license , and Basic Life Support . Preferred experience includes at least one year in mammography.
