Radiologic Technologist
Under general supervision this position performs a variety of radiographic procedures at a skilled technical level.
Core Competencies
Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic mammogram examinations. Selects the appropriate equipment, voltage, current and exposure time for the prescribed exam. Determines the most suitable anatomic position for obtaining an undistorted radiograph which can most clearly demonstrate the area of interest. Uses Ecklund Technique when imaging breast implants. Practices proper hand washing techniques and aseptic technique when indicated. Asks patient if they could be pregnant prior to starting exam. Protects patient and self from undue radiation exposure. Assists radiologists during procedures as required. Ensures universal protocol is followed. Alerts supervisor if any test is out of limits. Performs quality control tests and records and monitors same. Understands his/her role in maintaining medication security to authorized personnel only. Supports departmental need for orientation and training of new employees. Ensures quality digital images are acquired with appropriate labeling information. Participates in hospital performance improvement activities (BPI projects, task forces, etc) when requested. Demonstrates knowledge of clinical norms for all age groups as applicable to job functions. Follows MQSA, FDA, and TJC regulations in the performance of duties.

Compensation Range: $59.10 / Hour
