Mammography Technologist

Jackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist for a permanent role with an outpatient healthcare client in New York, NY where you will perform specialized examinations of the breast to assist in diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. Position is Days. Shift: M-F 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Mammography certification (ARRT®(M)).
  • State license in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology for New York.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • At least one year of diagnostic imaging experience preferred.
  • Experience performing diagnostic mammography examinations, including understanding and use of compression, exposure modes, kVp, mAs, grid selection, focal spot size, AEC/photo cell selection, and other imaging adjustments.
  • Experience interacting with physicians regarding imaging findings and responding to clinical questions.
  • Experience maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding patient health information and on-site medications per policy and legal requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide and support patients through mammography procedures with professional communication and sensitivity to patient boundaries and cultural differences.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Operate mammographic equipment and ancillary devices according to established policies and protocols.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images in a timely manner while providing patient-centered care.
  • Monitor patient well-being during exams and take appropriate action for discomfort or medical issues.
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior and effective interpersonal communication with patients, families, and coworkers.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Safeguard company property and any financial information encountered during work duties.
