Mammography TechnologistThe Mammography Technologist is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care on a continuing basis for the Mammography department and throughout the organization.Essential Duties and Responsibilities These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned.Produce a variety of high-quality radiographs through proper positioning and techniquePerform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel; communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to the Operations ManagerUtilize all assigned functions of the Radiology Information Computer System (RIGS); utilize the hospital computer system to enter radiology and laboratory orders, charges, and/or creditsPractice radiation safety in accordance with department policiesFollow NRC and State regulations for radiation safety and keep exposure "ALARA"Confirm patient identity prior to procedure via verbal communication on outpatients and/or identification bands on inpatientsPerform procedures as the schedule requires and rotate calls as neededAttend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-servicesDemonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient careSupervisory ResponsibilitiesReports to: Mammography Lead / Director. May be assigned work from the Radiologists, the Administrative Director and other Clinical LeadsSupervises: NoneResponsibilities: Not applicableQualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
