About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Make Ready Designer to join our team. This position is fully remote and offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in overhead distribution or joint use design, along with proficiency in Distribution Design Studio (DDS). Prior experience working with major utilities such as FirstEnergy or American Electric Power (AEP) is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform make ready engineering and design for overhead distribution systems and joint use projects.
- Utilize DDS to create accurate and compliant designs.
- Review utility standards and ensure all designs meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for all design activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in overhead distribution or joint use design.
- Proficiency in Distribution Design Studio (DDS).
- Experience working with FirstEnergy or American Electric Power (AEP) as a client.
- Strong understanding of utility standards and NESC compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with permitting processes and pole loading analysis.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
