Job TitleCustodial and Grounds Maintenance WorkerJob DescriptionPerforms a wide range of custodial and grounds-related duties including but not limited to janitorial work; landscape maintenance; and snow removal.
The role involves performing custodial tasks such as cleaning the visitor center, offices, restrooms, storerooms, public areas, and workspaces using industrial vacuums, chemicals, and cleaning solutions to maintain floors, carpets, walls, and ceilings.Supports interior and exterior upkeep by removing litter and debris and completing cyclical project work such as preparing surfaces for painting, performing stucco repairs, setting up scaffolding, and assisting with rehabilitation tasks. Additional duties include road and trail maintenance, sign installation, pavement striping, and trail surface repairs.Provides summer grounds care-such as mowing, trimming, fertilizing, watering, and planting-and winter maintenance activities including shoveling, snow blowing, light plowing, and applying salt or sand to walkways.
The role requires operating and performing basic maintenance on related equipment.Provides general labor support for the maintenance of buildings, grounds, roads, trails, and associated facilities. Adherence to all safety and operational protocols is required to maintain a safe work environment.Area/Duty Station Information: Position Location: Scotts Bluff National Monument, Gering, Nebraska. Area Information: Towering 800 feet above the North Platte River, Scotts Bluff has served as a landmark for peoples from Native Americans to emigrants on the Oregon, California and Mormon Trails to modern travelers.
