Maintenance TechnicianJoin a brand-new startup distribution center in Richmond's East End as a Maintenance Technician, where you will use your technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of electromechanical equipment that keeps operations running smoothly. You will support production through routine preventive maintenance, diagnose issues using schematics, and contribute to building a high-performing maintenance function from the ground up.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot equipment issues using technical knowledge, schematics, and diagnostic tools to quickly identify root causes and restore operation.Repair and maintain equipment, motors, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring instruments to ensure reliable performance and minimal downtime.Perform routine preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment to reduce failures and extend asset life.Carry out electromechanical repairs and maintenance on sensors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), electrical motors, conveyor systems, and related components.Support production operations by responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring equipment is set up and operating correctly.Perform equipment setup, operation, testing, and calibration to ensure machines meet performance and safety standards.Detect and correct mechanical errors, safety issues, and operational inefficiencies, escalating concerns when necessary.Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document work orders, maintenance activities, and equipment history.Train and mentor entry-level technicians in proper maintenance procedures, safe work practices, and troubleshooting techniques.Collaborate with operations and other teams to plan maintenance activities that minimize disruption to production.Essential SkillsDemonstrated experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment using technical knowledge and schematics.Proficiency in preventive maintenance practices for industrial equipment and systems.Hands-on mechanical skills, including working with motors, conveyor systems, and precision measuring equipment.Strong electrical skills, including experience with sensors, VFDs, and electrical motors.Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, including the ability to diagnose and repair related systems.Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, and equipment documentation.Experience using a CMMS to log maintenance activities, manage work orders, and track equipment history.Capability to perform equipment setup, operation, testing, and calibration.Skill in identifying mechanical errors, safety issues, and inefficiencies in equipment and processes.Strong focus on safety, quality, and reliability in all maintenance activities.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a distribution center, warehouse, or similar industrial environment.Background in electromechanical maintenance, including both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.Experience training or mentoring entry-level or junior technicians.Comfort working with conveyor systems and automated material handling equipment.Ability to collaborate effectively with production and operations teams to coordinate maintenance activities.Why Work Here?You will join a brand-new startup distribution center at the ground floor, with the opportunity to help shape maintenance processes and standards from day one.
