Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs machinery in the Rosenberg and Houston locations to ensure minimal machine downtime and maximum production efficiency.The Maintenance Technician must exhibit the behaviors of the WireCo Business System (WBS):Teamwork - welcomes an environment of inclusiveness and healthy debate that reflects our team's strengthAccountable – celebrates our successes, learn from failures, avoid excuses, and own the outcomes of our effortsSelf-Aware – demonstrates an understanding of our strengths and needs, considering how our actions impact othersNoble Intent – acts in the interests of others, approaching our work with integrity to ensure the best outcomeDetermined – takes initiative, share ideas and find solutions to win and achieve our goalsTransparent – promotes open and honest communication and constructive feedback for clarity and truthCurious – seeks knowledge and outside input to test our way of thinking, challenging the status quoDuties & ResponsibilitiesInstalls, modifies, and repairs machinery and equipment.Diagnoses issues with systems including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Utilizes available resources to meet customer requirements on time and within acceptable quality and cost levels.Maintains and repairs plant equipment to maximize equipment availability (uptime).Ensures completed work conforms to specifications, is performed professionally, and work areas are left clean of all maintenance materials and tools.Ensures facilities and machines comply with OSHA requirements and established safety and housekeeping practices.Performs a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.Follows and update maintenance procedures as needed.Coordinates with vendors and technicians for the repair and installation of equipment.Interacts with vendors and outside contractors to obtain quotes and order materials within approved cost, quality and delivery guidelines.Manages inventory of required spare parts and maintains records of tools and equipment distributed to team members.Maintains effective communications with all associates.Administers the plant's Preventive Maintenance Program, including identifying necessary repairs and recommending measures to prevent machine breakdowns.Maintains responsibility and accountability for personal safety and the safety of others working around equipment.Maintains regular attendance and punctuality and works scheduled shifts, including overtime when necessary.Performs all other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibility – None.QualificationsRequired QualificationsAssociate's degree, trade certificate or two (2) to four (4) years of related maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Demonstrated knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, welding, and fabrication systems and processes.One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment.Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with team members, vendors, and contractors.Proven ability to safely operate a forklift and maintain forklift certification, if required.Ability to read, interpret and apply technical manuals, blueprints, safety regulations, operating instructions, maintenance procedures and government regulations.Ability to prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including maintenance reports, procedures, technical recommendations and business correspondence.Preferred QualificationsAssociate of Applied Science degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Welding Technology, Control Systems, Industrial Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.Fluent in English and Spanish with the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Additional InformationMaterials and Equipment Directly UsedForklift, various hand and power tools, welders and cutting torchesPersonal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed safety shoesAdditional InformationMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.Must successfully complete all post-offer pre-employment screening requirements, including: Criminal background checkEmployment verificationEducation verificationDrug screeningPhysical examinationOSHA-compliant baseline audiometric (hearing) evaluationA criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment.Must be at least 18 years of age.Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disability.Job LocationI'm interested Privacy Notice
