Maintenance TechnicianFully On-Site As the Maintenance Technician, you will serve as a hands-on individual contributor responsible for the maintenance strategy and execution for critical Terminator equipment within the Melt Shop at Gerdau. This role is essential to ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations by minimizing downtime and driving equipment performance. You'll partner closely with operations and engineering in a fast-paced, heavy industrial environment where safety and continuous improvement are top priorities.What You'll DoOwn and execute maintenance activities for Terminator systems, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical componentsDevelop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment uptimeTroubleshoot equipment issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutionsEnsure timely execution of corrective maintenance to support continuous mill operationsEnforce safety protocols, including LOTO, confined space, and hot work proceduresConduct safety audits, hazard assessments, and lead incident investigationsIdentify and implement reliability improvements to reduce unplanned downtimeAnalyze maintenance KPIs and data to drive continuous improvement initiativesPartner with engineering and operations on upgrades, modifications, and capital projectsAlign maintenance planning with production schedules and prioritiesSupport production teams during critical equipment issues to ensure safe and efficient recoveryWhat You BringHigh school diploma or GED required5+ years of maintenance experience in a steel mill or heavy industrial environmentStrong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systemsProven ability to troubleshoot complex equipment and implement root cause solutionsStrong understanding of industrial safety standards and compliance requirementsExperience using maintenance metrics and data to improve performanceEffective leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsWho We AreRHI Magnesita is the leading global supplier of high-grade refractory products, systems and solutions which are critical for high-temperature processes in a wide range of industries.
