Maintenance Position at Laurel Heights HospitalLaurel Heights Hospital is a 112-bed facility located in Atlanta, GA. We are dedicated to providing youth with compassionate mental health treatment that encourages self-responsibility and personal growth. We provide psychiatric treatment to children and adolescents that present with a broad range of psychiatric, behavioral disorders and autism.
A clinically skilled multidisciplinary team works to partner with the youth and family to accomplish their goals in a supportive and therapeutic environment.Our maintenance responsibilities are:Team Leadership: Supervise and guide maintenance staff, delegate tasks, and ensure quality control.Manage daily work orders.Able to meet deadlines and set priorities.Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement schedules to minimize downtime.Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues and perform or oversee repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.Safety Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to federal, state, and local safety regulations.Inventory Management: Monitor and order supplies, tools, and replacement parts.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.Customer Service: Interact with staff or clients to resolve maintenance concerns professionally.Training: Mentor junior technicians and promote best practices.Skills & Qualifications:Strong technical knowledge across multiple trades (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical)Leadership and communication skillsWork with minimal supervisionAbility to read blueprints and schematicsFamiliarity with maintenance management softwareCertifications (e.g., HVAC, EPA, CFC) may be required depending on the roleEducation: High School Diploma or GEDPhysical and Mental Requirements:Ability to exercise self-control in potentially volatile situationsAbility to work amidst distractions such as noise, conversation and foot trafficAbility to handle interruptions often and be able to move from one task to anotherAbility to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, graspAbility to express and exchange ideas via spoken wordHearing to perceive the nature of sound with no less than 40 dB loss @ Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correctionAbility to perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands and fingersAbility to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionallyWork requires a minimum standard of visual acuityQualifications:Education: High school diploma/GED required.MUST be able to pass a drug test and fingerprint process.Licensure/Certification: Successful completion of CPR certification.EEO Statement: All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
