Maintenance SupervisorApex Waste Solutions is seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Supervisor to lead fleet maintenance operations across our Denver North and Parker facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance of our fleet of refuse collection vehicles, heavy equipment, support vehicles, and related assets.The Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership to technicians, manages preventive maintenance programs, oversees repairs, controls maintenance costs, ensures regulatory compliance, and partners closely with Operations to maximize fleet uptime and reliability.This position requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to building a culture centered around safety, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise maintenance operations for two fleet maintenance facilities.Manage and develop a team of Fleet Mechanics, PM Technicians, and Maintenance Helpers.Ensure maximum vehicle availability while minimizing downtime.Plan, schedule, and oversee all preventive maintenance and repair activities.Prioritize repairs based on operational needs and service schedules.Monitor fleet performance, reliability, and maintenance trends.Ensure compliance with all DOT, OSHA, EPA, CDL, and company safety regulations.Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for refuse trucks, roll-off trucks, heavy equipment, trailers, and support vehicles.Conduct regular inspections of equipment and maintenance facilities.Manage outside vendors, warranty work, and specialty repair services.Control maintenance budgets, labor hours, inventory, and operating expenses.Maintain accurate maintenance records utilizing fleet maintenance software.Ensure proper inventory levels of parts, tools, fluids, and shop supplies.Monitor purchasing and vendor relationships to maximize cost efficiency.Assist in evaluating replacement schedules and capital equipment planning.Partner with Operations to minimize service interruptions and maximize customer service.Recruit, coach, mentor, and evaluate maintenance personnel.Conduct performance reviews and establish employee development plans.Promote a positive, safety-first culture throughout the maintenance organization.Respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies as needed.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED5+ years of fleet maintenance experience3+ years of leadership or supervisory experienceStrong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and refuse equipmentExperience managing technicians and shop productivityKnowledge of DOT regulations and fleet compliance requirementsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsValid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordPreferredASE CertificationsCDL Class A or B (or ability to obtain)Experience in the waste, recycling, transportation, or heavy equipment industryExperience with fleet maintenance management software (Dossier, EMDECS, Fleetio, TMT, Faster, or similar)Welding and fabrication knowledgeKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong leadership and employee coaching skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities across two locationsStrong budgeting and cost control experienceMechanical troubleshooting expertiseAbility to analyze maintenance metrics and implement improvementsInventory management experienceVendor management and purchasing experienceComputer proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance softwareAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced operationWorking Conditions:Combination of office and shop environmentsFrequent exposure to loud noise, moving machinery, grease, dirt, chemicals, and varying weather conditionsRegular walking through maintenance shops and operating yardsOccasional lifting of up to 50 poundsMay require evening, weekend, or emergency call-out workTravel between Denver North and Parker locations on a regular basisCompensation & Benefits:$ 110,000 - $ 117,000 Yearly Salary + BonusMedical, Dental, & Vision InsuranceMatching 401kLong Term & Short-Term DisabilityLife InsurancePaid Time OffAs an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer, all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
