Maintenance SupervisorThe Maintenance Supervisor ensures the best possible maintenance support for the entire facility to optimize production operations. They will contribute to the success of the organization through analyzing data to understand equipment downtime and mitigate unplanned equipment failure.Key Accountabilities:Maximize production efficiencies and minimize equipment downtime:Optimize production operations through prioritizing, scheduling, and coordinating requests of repairs and installations for all aspects of maintenance work. This includes efficient and effective repair and installation of equipment, building systems, processes, calibration of instruments and making program changes and adjustments as needed on all process control systems.Prioritize, schedule, perform work assignments, and establish a maintenance schedule that maximizes efficiency and reduces equipment down time.
Coordinate downtime with other stakeholders to schedule routine maintenance on boilers, HVAC, ammonia, sprinkler systems and other building systems and equipment.Review and recommend equipment changes and assist in the design and installation of new projects, equipment, and control systems. Oversee outside contractors to ensure installations are completed within specifications.Act as the technical resource to address and resolve any maintenance related inquiries and problems, including aiding in trouble shooting plant equipment malfunctions.Lead, mentor, and schedule maintenance technicians. Assign responsibilities and preventative and corrective maintenance work orders.Ensure safety and training in the workplace:Participate in safety efforts including attending safety meetings, incident investigations, assisting in root cause analysis and auditing.Provide training to operators and maintenance staff regarding the operation and troubleshooting of process controllers and instrumentation.Standardize procedures and preventive maintenance instructions when new equipment and processes are implemented.Ensure all practices comply with regulatory and internal policies:Manage OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) programs, with an emphasis on lockout/tagout and electrical safety.Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, recommend, and implement an approved maintenance department budget.Review and identify SQF compliance in relation to the maintenance function at the facility.Ensure that quality and food safety best practices are performed for all operations within the facility.Monitor gas, water, and electrical usage and recommend methods to reduce usage.Oversee the operation of the wastewater treatment equipment and/or the boilers.This role is accountable for ensuring that monitoring and/or verifying of control points occurs and that the required documentation is completed.
For example, Critical Control Points(CCP), Preventive Controls(PC), Critical Quality Points(CQP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points(HACCP), and Safe Quality Food(SQF) plans.
