Maintenance SupervisorClinton, Massachusetts, United StatesThe RoleThe Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager and serves as the first-line leader for the maintenance team, directing the daily work of maintenance technicians to keep all production and facility equipment running safely and reliably. In this hands-on role, you will schedule and assign work, lead troubleshooting and repairs on the floor, and drive the site's preventative maintenance program. You will develop your technicians, enforce safety and quality standards, and partner with production to minimize downtime.
The ideal candidate is a strong technical maintenance professional who leads by example and takes pride in a well-run shop and a well-developed team.ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & SupervisionSupervise, schedule, and assign the daily work of maintenance technicians, balancing preventative maintenance, work orders, and breakdown response to meet production needsProvide day-to-day direction, coaching, and hands-on training to technicians; identify skill gaps and coordinate development opportunitiesMonitor technician performance and workloads, provide recognition, address performance issues, and recommend disciplinary action as needed in accordance with company policyAssist the Maintenance Manager with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of maintenance staffConduct regular team meetings to communicate safety, quality, priorities, and departmental initiativesServe as back-up for the Maintenance Manager as neededMaintenance ExecutionLead and participate in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of production and facility equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, HVAC, and PLC-controlled systemsOwn the site's preventative and predictive maintenance schedules, ensuring PMs are completed on time and to standardDevelop and implement sustainable, long-term solutions to recurring equipment reliability issuesEnsure work orders are executed, documented, and closed out accurately in the CMMSCoordinate equipment installations, startups, and shutdowns with production to minimize disruptionSupport capital projects and equipment upgrades; evaluate and help test new technology and methodsSafety & ComplianceEnsure all maintenance activities are performed safely and in accordance with plant and corporate safety standards and policiesEnforce associate compliance with applicable state and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, Hazardous Waste) relating to maintenance operationsMaintain and enforce quality standards, procedures, and supporting documentation for maintenance workCoordination & MaterialsEnsure critical spare parts and MRO supplies are available to support scheduled and unplanned maintenance, coordinating with purchasing/inventory on stock levels and reordersCoordinate with outside vendors and contractors to support maintenance needs, including addressing unsatisfactory quality or servicePrepare and distribute maintenance metrics and reports (e.g., PM completion, downtime, work order status)Communicate priorities, bottlenecks, and major issues clearly across all levels of the organizationQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required; technical certification, trade school, or some college preferred5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing/production environment, with 1+ years in a lead or supervisory capacityStrong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and HVAC systems; PLC troubleshooting experience preferredDemonstrated ability to lead, schedule, and develop a team of techniciansExperience with a CMMS required (eMaint preferred)Working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and reliability best practicesProficient with hand and power tools and measuring instrumentsMicrosoft Office skills required; intermediate preferredStrong communication, time management, and organizational skills, with demonstrated attention to detailAdditional RequirementsMust pass any and all required background checksMust be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industryMust possess a valid driver's licenseMust be a minimum of 21 years of ageMust be approved by the state regulating agency to receive a cannabis agent badgeMust understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green ThumbWorking ConditionsWorks in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditionsWorks at heights, including on roofs, on scaffolding, up ladders, or in ceiling spacesMoves over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfacesWork overnight, weekends, and varying shiftsMove through narrow, enclosed, or elevated spacesWork outdoors for extended periods of timeMoves, lifts, carries, and places merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds without assistanceWork involves daily exposure to allergens (such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil)The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role.
