Maintenance SupervisorSeeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join a growing company in West Seneca, NY.Position SummaryWe are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supervising technicians, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities, supporting equipment reliability initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam LeadershipLead, coach, and support maintenance technicians during assigned shifts.Assign and prioritize daily maintenance activities to meet operational needs.Monitor employee performance, attendance, productivity, and safety compliance.Conduct shift meetings, communicate priorities, and ensure effective shift handoffs.Assist with hiring, training, onboarding, and employee development efforts.Maintenance OperationsCoordinate emergency repairs and equipment troubleshooting.Ensure preventive maintenance work is completed on schedule.Prioritize maintenance activities based on safety, production impact, and equipment reliability.Verify repairs are completed correctly before equipment is returned to service.Support root cause investigations for recurring equipment failures.Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other departments to minimize downtime.Support equipment installations, shutdowns, and capital improvement projects.CMMS & PlanningManage maintenance work assignments through a CMMS system.Ensure accurate documentation of labor, parts, and repair activities.Monitor preventive maintenance compliance and maintenance backlogs.Assist with maintenance planning and scheduling.Safety & CompliancePromote a strong culture of safety and accountability.Ensure compliance with: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Machine guarding, Arc flash safety, Confined space procedures, Hot work permits, PPE requirements, GMP and food safety standards, OSHA and other regulatory requirements.Investigate and address safety concerns and support corrective actions.Inventory & CommunicationCoordinate parts and inventory needs with maintenance planning and storeroom personnel.Communicate equipment status and maintenance priorities with operations leadership.Escalate significant maintenance concerns as needed.Maintain professional relationships with vendors and contractors.Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes.Support preventive maintenance enhancements and reliability initiatives.Promote continuous improvement and standardization across maintenance operations.QualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or GED.Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.Experience working with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems.Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.PreferredPrevious maintenance supervisory or team leadership experience.Experience in food, beverage, dairy, or other manufacturing environments.Experience in a unionized manufacturing setting.Technical degree or equivalent maintenance training.Technical SkillsIndustrial mechanical and electrical systemsPLC troubleshootingPneumatic and hydraulic systemsConveyors, pumps, valves, and motor controlsVFDs and automation equipmentPreventive and predictive maintenanceRoot cause analysisMicrosoft Office and CMMS platformsPhysical RequirementsAbility to walk throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods.Ability to climb ladders and stairs.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Comfortable working in hot, cold, wet, noisy, and confined-space environments.Availability for weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency call-ins as needed.What Success Looks LikeMaintain high safety and compliance standards.Improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.Drive completion of preventive maintenance activities.Develop and mentor maintenance technicians.Ensure accurate maintenance documentation and communication.Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
